Yars’ Revenge Action Figure
The year is 1982, Michael Jackson releases Thriller, Disney opens a futuristic park called EPCOT, and the first CD player is sold in Japan. Yet for the pioneers of video gaming these headlines paled in comparison to the Atari 2600 release of Yars’ Revenge, one of Atari’s most underrated
games of all time. The player controls an insect-like creature called a Yar who must nibble or shoot through a barrier in order to fire his Zorlon Cannon into the breach. The objective is to destroy the evil Qotile, which exists on the other side of the barrier… Best. Game. Ever.
